Recent meetings between Frankfurt and Bayern have been eventful affairs. In the last 10 encounters in the Bundesliga, the Munich men have won by a margin of four or more goals on four occasions, while the Hessians have done so twice – most recently in the first half of this season. That’s one of three wins that SGE have claimed in their last six meetings with FCB (D1 L2). Historically, though, the German record champions have a clear advantage with 57 wins from 105 games in the competition, and just 25 losses (23 draws).

Kane spearheading prolific Bayern attack

Last Saturday’s comfortable 5-1 victory at 1. FC Union Berlin took Bayern to 87 goals for the season – the fourth-highest tally after 30 matchdays in Bundesliga history. One man who clearly played a big part in that is Harry Kane. The England captain netted for the 33rd time in only his 30th game in Germany’s top flight in Berlin, surpassing the 60-year-old record set by Uwe Seeler, who ‘only’ reached 33 goals in his 33rd Bundesliga appearance. If Kane gets on the scoresheet again against Frankfurt, he’ll be on the verge of yet another best: with 40 goals in all competitions (from just 41 games!) in his debut season for Bayern, he’s just one away from his personal best of 41 goals for Tottenham Hotspur in the 2017/18 campaign.
