Before last week, Vanderbilt baseball had scored fewer than four runs only once all season.
The Commodores (20-6, 3-3 SEC) have now done so four times in their past five games.
Vanderbilt sandwiched shaky midweek wins against Belmont, 3-1, and Valparaiso, 3-2, around getting swept at South Carolina. The Commodores will look to regroup by hosting Missouri (10-15, 1-5) for a weekend series at Hawkins Field.
Vanderbilt is dealing with multiple injuries as right-hander Andrew Dutkanych was ruled out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery and reliever Sawyer Hawks is also unavailable. Left-hander JD Thompson, who sat out two straight midweek starts, could potentially be available this weekend.

The Tigers have on their roster former Commodore Miles Garrett, who was on the team in 2021. He sat out both the 2022 and 2023 seasons before landing at Missouri via the transfer portal.
Vanderbilt has also switched around its rotation after playing a doubleheader on Saturday against the Gamecocks. Bryce Cunningham and Carter Holton flipped spots in the rotation, while Devin Futrell will not make a start. Instead, Greysen Carter will start Thursday.
