“Celtics” assistant coach Lee will take over the helm of the “Hornets” represented by Bertan

--

ESPN analyst Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Charlotte team has signed a four-year deal with Lee.

Lee will join the Hornets after the Celtics close out the season.

The previous “Hornets” head coach, Steve Clifford, announced in April that he would not continue to coach the Charlotte team. The 62-year-old coach has been managing the Hornets since 2022, and has also been the club’s coach from 2013 to 2018.

Prior to joining the Celtics coaching staff prior to this season, Lee was with the Milwaukee Bucks from 2018-2023 and began his career as an assistant coach with the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks in 2014.

Next season, the last year of the five-year contract will be valid for Bertans, in which the basketball player can decide for himself whether he wants to continue this contract. The five-year contract is worth 80 million US dollars (75.3 million euros).

The Hornets finished 13th in the Eastern Conference this season with 21 wins in 82 games.
