Last night, Latvian defenseman Uvis Balinskis did not participate in the second round of the National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup, in which his Florida Panthers beat the Boston Bruins 6-1 at home and tied the four-game winning streak at 1-1.

In the first game of the series, the “Bruins” convincingly won 5-1, then the “Panthers” scored the first goal, followed by five goals consecutively performed by the Boston team. It was a similar scenario this time – “Bruins” opened the score in the first third, Charlie Coyle was accurate, but in the remaining part of the game, the home team scored six unanswered goals and achieved a convincing success.

In the second period, Steven Lorenz, Alexander Barkov and Gustav Forsling shot the puck into the Boston team’s goal, but in the final third, Etu Luostarinen stood out with an accurate shot, Barkov beat most of the visitors’ goalkeepers, while Brandon Montour scored the few goals. Barkov finished the match with four (2+2) points, while Sam Reinhart assisted on four goals.

In the first round of the Stanley Cup, the Panthers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-1 in the series, while the Bruins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey players 4-3.

Balinskis has not yet made his playoff debut, but in the regular championship, the Latvian defender played 26 games for the Panthers, where he scored one goal, two assists, eight penalty minutes and a neutral efficiency ratio.
