In the match of the first round of the Stanley Cup of the National Hockey League (NHL), last season’s champion Vegas “Golden Knights” lost to the Dallas “Stars” 2:4 (1:1, 1:2, 0:1) at home on Monday, allowing the opponents to equalize in the series.
In the duel up to four victories, the result has now become 2-2, although the “Golden Knights” started the series with two victories away from home. In Monday’s game, Michael Amadio put the hosts in the lead in the 15th minute, to which “Stars” responded with Yevgenii Dadonov’s accurate shot in the 18th minute.
The Golden Knights took the lead again in the second period after Jack Aikel’s accurate shot in the fourth minute, but six minutes later Wyatt Johnston tied the game at 2-2 before Ty Dellandrea put the Stars ahead at the end of the period.
In the final third, the champions were unable to fight back, and in the 59th minute, another goal was lost, when Rope Hincs made it 4:2 with a shot into an empty net.
The fifth game of the series will take place on Wednesday in Dallas, the sixth game will be played on Friday in Las Vegas, but if the seventh match in the series is also necessary, it will take place on Sunday at the “Stars” field. The winner of this pair will meet the Colorado Avalanche or Winnipeg Jets hockey players in the semifinals of the Western Conference. The Avalanche are currently leading the series 3-1.
