The 33-year-old forward Johansson scored 11 goals and 19 assists (30 points) in 78 games in the NHL regular season as part of the “Wild” this season.

In his career, Johansson played 14 seasons in the NHL, participated in 911 matches in the regular season and accumulated 483 points (174+309).

Brodin has played 12 seasons in the world’s strongest hockey league, participated in 803 regular championship games and scored 240 points (54+186).

Johansson helped Sweden win silver at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, while Brodin is a gold medalist at the 2017 World Championships.

It has already been announced that NHL players Erik Karlsson, Rasmus Dahlins and Viktor Olofsson had previously accepted to participate in this year’s world championship.

The 2024 World Championship will take place in the Czech cities of Prague and Ostrava from May 10 to 26. The Latvian national team will go to the world championship on May 9.

Latvia will meet France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden and the USA in subgroup B of the World Championship.

The match between Latvian and Swedish ice hockey players is scheduled for May 18.
