Sesks and co-driver Renard Franci will drive a “Ford Puma Rally1” vehicle prepared by the “M-Sport Ford” factory team in two stages of the WRC. Sesks told Latvian Television on Tuesday that “M-Sport Ford” is one of the oldest teams in the world championship and coming into its view was not a sudden turn, but the result of more than a year and a half of work. Good results in the European Championship races contributed to the crew’s opportunity to compete in the WRC stages in Poland and Latvia.

“Let us here [WRC] would be, it’s not a day’s work. Results must come first,” Cesk admitted. “Along with [WRC] promoters, we have come to the opportunity to compete in two stages, where we have already proven ourselves previously in lower category classes.”

The experience at the wheel of a “Rally2” class car in the European Championship was an important argument for Ceska/Francis on the way to the WRC race. WRC promoters are running a project to help young drivers try their hand at the world championship’s elite class, where around 11 cars usually start.

Cesc and Franci will only have two short practice days in England and one day in Poland to get to know the car before their WRC debut in Poland at the end of June. Therefore, every second should be purposefully used in training, because

there are many important parameters that distinguish the WRC model from the “Rally 2” class vehicle.

“First of all, the power is almost twice as much, together with hybrid technology, which you also need to know how to use. Also, the huge aerodynamics – the faster you drive this car, the more the car presses against the ground and the grip is greater,” explained Cesk. “With that, there are a lot of things to get used to, especially at the moment when we will compete in the world’s elite with the world’s fastest rally drivers.”

During his first acquaintance with the “Ford Puma Rally1”, Sesks immediately made sure that the machine provides a lot of help to the pilot and the start is simple, but at the same time the motor sportsman is aware of how difficult it will be to catch the small tenths of a second in the battle with the world rally elite. However

Ferret and Franci are ready to work harder than others to be ready for the historic start.

Next year WRC cars will no longer use hybrid technology, keeping the green component of racing with the use of sustainable fuel. This year’s stage in Poland as well, the Latvian power car will not be equipped with hybrid technology, whereas in Liepāja the home team will be able to use the maximum power available in the world rally.

Sesks expects that the Latvian WRC stage will turn into a four-day motorsport festival, and it will definitely be worth coming for the fans to get to know the top-level rally up close. Sesks and Francis will try to please the fans of Latvian motorsport, but in the nearest competition plan they will have a start in the European Championship stage in Spain in two weeks.
