On April 23, the police detained four persons – men born in 1968 and 1976, a woman born in 1981 and a man born in 1979, who was already in the place of deprivation of liberty in another criminal trial and procedural actions were taken against him.
According to the information at the disposal of the police, the arrested persons were engaged in the sale of narcotic, psychotropic substances, using a hidden system, communicating in the communication app “Telegram”.
The organizer was in one of the places of deprivation of liberty in Latvia and coordinated the activities of the other members of the criminal group, whose task was to store, package and hide narcotics, as well as control the financial flow.
In total, nine searches were conducted at the addresses and cars belonging to the arrested persons, as a result of which approximately 1.5 kilograms of amphetamine, various items for packaging amphetamine – electronic scales, polyethylene bags, already packaged amphetamine, as well as one “Volkswagen” brand car were seized.
The man born in 1968 was placed in custody. The man born in 1976 and the woman born in 1981 were given a non-custodial measure.
The alleged organizer continues to serve a prison sentence in another criminal trial, and in the event that his guilt is proven in accordance with the law, the person will be held criminally liable in this criminal trial.
