The cleaning of sidewalks and roadways after the winter season continues in the streets of the capital.
In order for the city to be cleaned up faster, the Riga municipality especially calls on drivers to observe temporary stopping and parking bans on the sides of the streets.
Taking into account that in many places of the city these prohibitions are not observed or are observed lazily, the Department of Space and Mobility has asked to strengthen the control of the Municipal Police in those places where the prohibition signs are installed, and the drivers may be fined.
The Department of Outdoor Space and Mobility informs that during the next week it is planned to introduce temporary stopping and parking bans on the street sections of the suburbs of Zemgale and Vidzeme, where vehicles are allowed to park along the street edges. From Monday, May 13, installation of road signs and work is expected:
- Baložu Street, from Kapseļu Street to Kalnciema Street, on the side of odd numbers;
- Mārupes Street, from Liepājas Street to Mārupes Street No. 37, on the side of odd numbers;
- Mārupes street, from Saules alley to Mārupes street No. 10A, on the side of even numbers;
- Mārupes Street, from Ventspils Street to Bāriņu Street, on the side of even numbers;
- On Olgas iela, from Nometņu iela to Ernestīnes iela, on the odd-numbered side;
On Volguntes Street, from Fridriha Cander Street to Volguntes No. 35B. on the odd-numbered side.
The municipality calls on you to follow the posted road signs so that the cleaning process goes more smoothly.
