Traffic restrictions are currently to be reckoned with during the repair work stages of 43 national roads, informs “Latvijas valsts ceļi”.

The biggest restrictions are on the Ventspils-Kolka regional road, where there are seven temporary traffic lights near Ventspils and it takes almost an hour to leave the section. Five temporary traffic lights and about 45 minutes on the road should be expected to cross the section of the Vidzeme highway from the turn to Cēsis to Rīdzeni, as well as when driving from Kangari to Tīnūži, where there are five sections of reverse traffic and the expected crossing time of the repair section is about 40 minutes.

On the section of the Kocēni-Limbaži-Tūja highway from Umurga to Iesalkāja in three sections, traffic is organized in one lane with preferential traffic signs. Estimated crossing time of the repair section is 45 minutes. The Augšlīgatne-Skrīveri highway section from Nītaura to Zauba has two traffic lights, the expected crossing time of the repair section is half an hour.

There are four sections of traffic lights on the Ventspils-Dundaga road, but the expected crossing time of the repair section is 35 minutes. On the highway Kandava-Saldus from Zemīte to Kapukrog in five stages, traffic is regulated by traffic lights and a local detour has been introduced. The estimated time of crossing the repair stage is 30-35 minutes.

On the Skrunda-Aizpute section of the road in the direction of Valtaikai after Kazdanga, there are three sections of traffic lights, but the expected crossing time of the repair section is half an hour. The Ilūkste – Bebrene section of the highway from Mazslatie to Zasa has three sections of traffic lights, and 25 minutes should be planned for the crossing.

The bridge over the Vēdzele river on the regional highway Tukums-Kuldīga is closed to traffic. The closed section can be bypassed by the Aizstrauši-Starpiņas and Kandava-Saldus roads, which should take 20 minutes on the way. In the three sections of the Smiltene-Valka highway near Smiltene, traffic is regulated by traffic lights, and an additional 20 minutes must be planned for the journey.
