The Latvian national team has and will always have heart and soul

--

Forward Eduards Tralmaks will make his debut in the world championship as part of the Latvian national hockey team at the age of 27. In the Czech Republic – a country where he showed himself very well in his first season in Europe after returning from America. He talks about the influence of the Czech legend Jaromīrs Jagr, his future plans and the Latvian national team.

– You had a very good season in the Czech championship in Kladno “Rytīrži” team. In the regular season, I scored 21 goals and provided 11 assists. You also played very successfully in the playoffs to stay in the top league. You can say that you were like the savior of the team. I assume that you yourself are also satisfied with how your first season in Europe unfolded.

– Everything started in the summer after the operation, when I chose to play in Kladno. Why did I choose? I wanted to be a team leader and they offered me that. We were one of the worst teams at that point and someone had to take the initiative. It turned out to be me. Shots went, confidence appeared, and that’s how the entire season played out. It is very pleasant that it was not like walking on hills, as usual. Maybe there were some hills, but I wouldn’t call them mountains. Goals fell, points accumulated. Unfortunately, the team did not manage to show a better performance, but in the rematches we confirmed that we are an extra league team.

– From the beginning of the season, you felt that you were welcome in the Kladno team and that you could be a leader?
