On May 11 and 12, planned training of the National Guardsmen of the 4th Kurzeme Brigade 52nd Combat Support Battalion will take place in the Valgunde and Kalnciema parishes of the Jelgava Region to maintain and improve the combat capabilities of the National Guard unit.

The training tasks will be carried out both in the light and in the dark, so that the National Guardsmen will improve their combat skills for the protection of the areas of responsibility of the National Guard units. The purpose of the training is to improve and maintain the acquired skills for effective operation in the area at any time of the day, performing military training tasks.
The training will take place in areas agreed with JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” and the municipality of Jelgava region.
The National Guard does not discriminate based on nationality, education, specialty or experience. The candidate must be a citizen of Latvia between the ages of 18 and 60, with knowledge of the national language at least at the intermediate (B1) level, with an appropriate state of health and initial physical fitness. Attention residents!
During the training, the land guards of the Valgunde and Kalnciem parishes of the Jelgava region will use training ammunition, which produces sound, but does not threaten people’s life or health in any way. The training places will be cleaned after the training.

During the training, temporary movement of military transport is possible on the roads in Valgunde and Kalnciem parish territory.
