On May 14, in Arena Riga, commemorating Juri Kulakova, who passed away this year, a memorial concert “Heart as thunder” will be held, gathering well-known musicians in Latvia. The population survey found that the opportunity to personally visit and enjoy cultural events, including concerts, is essential for every fourth (27%) resident of Latvia and is associated with a sense of freedom.

In a survey commissioned by the fashion and lifestyle shopping center Spice*, economically active residents were asked about the activities most associated with freedom. For the majority, or 73% of the respondents, this feeling is caused by travelling, the second most popular answer chosen by 68% of respondents is relaxing in nature, followed by attending concerts and cultural events – 27%, sports – 19% and dancing – 9%.

The answer “attending concerts and cultural events” was chosen by women (29%) more often than men (26%), while men associate relaxation in nature with freedom more than women – this answer was chosen by 70% of men and 66% of women.

The concert in memory of Jura Kulakov is conceived as a tribute to the artist’s life and music, which has been inspiring, exciting, making you feel, think and be – to be yourself for generations. In the concert, alongside the group “Pērkons”, “Instrumenti”, “Dagamba”, “Minuet”, “Liepāja Symphony Orchestra” and other musicians will take the stage. The artistic director of the concert is musician Reinis Sējāns.

The concert is supported by the fashion and lifestyle shopping center “Spice”, a long-time partner and supporter of the group.

*The population survey was conducted by the research company “Norstat” on the order of the fashion and lifestyle shopping center “Spice”, surveying more than 1000 residents throughout Latvia in March of this year.
