On Wednesday, May 8, in commemoration of the victims of the Second World War, flowers were placed in the graves and memorials of the victims of the Second World War in Daugavpils.

Since 1995, May 8 has been a day of remembrance – the day of commemoration of the victims of the defeat of Nazism and the Second World War. 78 years ago today, Germany signed the act of capitulation and World War II ended in Europe.

In commemoration of the tragic events and war victims, on Wednesday, as every year, Daugavpils city management visited the resting and memorial places of the victims of the Second World War – the memorial in Dubrovina Park, the memorial to the victims of Nazism in Viduspogulanka, the burial place of Red Army soldiers in the Garrison cemetery, the memorial plaque to the victims of Nazi concentration camps At the Stalag site, at the resting place of the Red Army soldiers, at the Brethren’s Cemetery on Bryanska Street, at the Brethren’s Cemetery in Gayok, at the Cemetery of the Victims of Nazism in Gayok, and at the Brethren’s Cemetery on 18 Novembra Street.
