On Saturday mornings in May, branches of the Latgale Central Library and the LCB Family Digital Activity Center invite families to events organized by the library. Reading families with children will participate in Mother’s Day and International Family Day activities, be active in creative workshops and share their joy of reading with others.
on May 11 at At 11.00 a.m. at the LCB branch in the Children’s Library “Zīlīte” (Mihoelsa Street 58) in the literary themed event “Mother – the most beloved May sun” you will have the opportunity to be creative and create a bouquet of paper flowers for your mothers and grandmothers, inspired by the aloud reading of book excerpts. On the other hand, at the LCB branch in the Pārdaugava library (KomunalļĪi iela 2) at At 11.00, a themed event dedicated to the International Family Day “Oh, how many lights do we have in our house after all!” /L. Deer/. Families will be able to familiarize themselves with the basics of researching and creating a family tree and try their hand at creating their own family tree.
on May 11 at At 10.00 a.m., a literary themed event “White Tablecloth Festival” will be held at the LCB branch in Piekraste library (Aveņu Street 40) for families and all interested parties. The participants of the event will share their stories about family traditions, values and family relics inherited from generation to generation. On the other hand, in the LCB Family Digital Activities Center (Rīgas Street 22a) at At 11.00, a themed event “Mother’s Day” will be held. There will be an opportunity to create a gift for mom yourself, using the possibilities of the digital center.
on May 25 at At 11.00 a.m. in the branch of the LCB in the Children’s Library “Zīlīte” (Mihoelsa street 58) the closing event of the season “Sadūkuši tā kā bites hive” will be organized. Let’s remember the moments spent together and share our joy of reading. On the other hand, at the LCB branch in the Pārdaugava library (KomunalļĪi iela 2) at At 11.00, the creative workshop “Big, small insects, felt the warm sun…” /L. Summer harvest. During it, you will have the opportunity to make your favorite insects from plasticine – bees, butterflies, bumblebees – and listen to poems about nature by Latvian authors.
