He lives in the wild with his American Akita, Silas, whom he adopted in 2021. A man lives a happy life in the wild with his faithful companion.

Speaking to the publication, Karahan says: “In nature, it all costs me £0, so I save £36,500 a year. I was born in Istanbul, a big city of 22 million people, and for the last ten years I have tried to sustain my life with what nature offers me in the wild.”

He settles near water sources to use as a shower and builds his own fireplaces to keep warm in the colder months.

Instead of spending money on meals out or shopping trips, he forages and gathers nature’s bounty to feed himself and his dog.

“I start my day very early because I get up with the sunrise. Since I usually live close to water sources, I shower by a waterfall. I make fireplaces in sheds for road heating. I have no problem with the heating.”

Karahan mostly lives off the mushrooms that grow in abundance in the forest, and Sila doesn’t protest either.

He adds: “I prefer mushrooms because in the region where I am, mushrooms grow very densely. My dog’s favorite food is lamb, however she is not a picky eater and eats everything in the wild with me. She also loves mushrooms.”

Karahan claims that he prefers a secluded lifestyle with his dog as his only companion because of his previous disillusionment with people.

He says, “People are what encouraged me to live in nature. I ran away from duplicitous manipulative people and took refuge in the wild. Life in the wild with my dog is great. Although she is a house dog, she has protected me from all kinds of dangers. Everyone is a witness to the fact that when you step out of your comfort zone, you can accomplish things that are much higher than yourself.”
