This week, May 2, at 10 a.m., students will be able to start applying for work during the summer vacation, LETA was informed by the State Employment Agency (NVA).

Students will be able to apply for a summer job by filling out the application form on the NVA website in the “Summer vacation job” section. In the application form, the student must indicate his personal data, the educational institution where the education is obtained, the class or course in which the student is studying, and contact information for communication with the NVA. In case of questions, the NVA invites you to call the information phone number 80200206.

The list of vacancies offered to students will be published, regularly supplemented and updated in the “Jobs during summer vacation” section of the NVA website.

The student must follow the list of vacancies and apply for a suitable vacancy by contacting the employer.

If the student has agreed on employment and its duration with the employer, who has applied for the relevant vacancy to the NVA, before starting the job, the NVA employee will send an assignment to participate in the event, as well as information about the time and conditions of starting work, to the e-mail address specified in the student’s application, while to a short message about the assignment will be sent to the phone number specified in the application form.

Students’ electronic registration for the event will continue until August 16, so all students who want to register will be able to do so. However, registration for participation in the event does not guarantee participation, as the number of jobs co-financed by the state is limited, and employers will be the ones who will choose suitable employees from among the students.

This year, the funding for the implementation of the summer employment event for students is 4,357,920 euros, which is enough to employ 10,376 students in the created workplaces.

Vineta Leončika, deputy director of the Employment Events Department of the National Academy of Sciences, head of the Employment Events Department, states that the summer employment event is an excellent opportunity for students to gain work experience and develop work skills. It is an opportunity that will not only give students the opportunity to get to know the working environment and working relationships in practice, but will also help them plan their future career and build their professional path more knowledgeable. Also, in her opinion, learning work skills during the summer vacation is a path to independence, self-improvement and discovering one’s abilities.

The students’ summer employment event will take place from June 1 to August 31. Pupils aged 15 to 20 (inclusive) who are studying in general, special or professional educational institutions are invited to participate in the event.

The duration of the student’s employment in the event can be from two weeks to two months. The student’s monthly salary for full working time will not be less than the amount of the state minimum salary – 700 euros before taxes. Children of Ukrainian civilians will be able to work in state co-financed workplaces this summer as well.

A student between the ages of 15 and 17 is employed no more than 7 hours a day and no more than 35 hours a week. A student between the ages of 18 and 20 is employed 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. Pupils are not employed in jobs involving increased risk to their safety, health, morals and development.
