The booklet on action in crisis situations is supplemented with an action plan for families, stockpiling and other details. It is a 24-page informative material available on the portal “Sargs.lv” created by the Ministry of Defense (MoD).

The minister said that the main changes from the previous booklet are in its specific sections – for example, how to act in a crisis situation within the family. He called on every resident of Latvia to spend an hour getting acquainted with this material. Likewise, the stocks to be created in case of evacuation, actions in case of war.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Aivars Puriņš emphasized that it is a question of 72-hour endurance, not a bag – he expressed that the illusion that one had to pack a bag and go somewhere, but this was not the case – it is endurance to be able to take care of oneself for three days, until someone comes to help, said Puriņš.

Sprud expressed that it is important that the information reaches the people. In response to the journalist’s question at the press conference about how the booklet will reach people who do not visit the “sargs.lv” website, the minister mentioned that electronic means, interactive solutions will be used, and the booklet will be available in printed form.
