In the TV24 program “On the line”, a viewer asked a question about foreign students in Latvian universities: “Isn’t it the case that a large part of those foreign students end up working in the delivery of “Wolt” and “Bolt” food in Latvia and Riga?”
“What can lecturers dressed like this teach?” The poetess and lecturer is publicly horrified and mocks the teachers’ clothes

To this viewer’s question, Rector of Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) Aigars Pētersons replied that there were no such students at the university he represented. “Our foreign students, if they don’t come to school, don’t study well, don’t pass tests and exams, they fly out like corks! I apologize for this comparison. They are immediately expelled,” Peterson said.
The rector of RSU emphasized that there is a competition at the university he leads, and “the best” students come to this university.
“We don’t get those who ride with ‘Wolt’ and ‘Bolt’ backpacks! The best young people from Scandinavia and Germany with the highest scores in centralized exams come to us. So we can choose the best ones [studentus], and it’s not an RSU problem! In six years, I have not seen a single backpack like this, either in the dorms or in ours Campus [ārvalstu studentu apmaiņas programmā],” that’s how RSU Rector Petersons answered the question asked by the viewer of the TV24 program “Uz linija”, commenting on whether foreign students end up working as “Wolt” and “Bolt” food delivery couriers.
