On May 4, the anniversary of the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Latvia, cultural events in Ogre will be mixed with various activities, in which every resident and guest of the city is invited to strengthen the unity of the people and enjoy the festive mood.
From 15.00 in the streets of Brīvības on the pedestrian section, we will paint Latvia, creating a joint painting and creatively expressing our love for our country.
at At 15.00 on the stage of the city square with the concert ZEME ZEĞ, ZEME PLAUKST, the children’s vocal studio of the Culture Center of Ogre region SVILPASTES, the middle generation dance groups RAKSTI and AIJA, the children and youth dance group PĪLĀDZĪTIS and the senior dance group OGRĒNIETIS will welcome Latvia during the holiday.
From 16.00 at the pedestrian section of Brīvības Street, by participating in creative workshops and participating in a knotting master class together with SAIVA, the folk applied art studio of the Ogre County Culture Center, you will be able to learn new skills and create something beautiful and useful.
On the other hand, at At 17.00, the traditional TWEED RIDE will be started at M. Pūre’s bakery. During the trip, the participants, dressed in retro clothes, will drive a beautiful route through the most picturesque places of Ogre.
At the end of the day at At 7:00 p.m., a concert by the National Armed Forces Headquarters Orchestra Concert Ensemble dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Latvia will be held in the city square. The concert will feature compositions by well-known artists in Latvia, as well as original works created by themselves, who are able to captivate everyone with their power and energy. Despite its short existence, the Variety Ensemble of the Headquarters Orchestra of the National Armed Forces has won the hearts of many listeners with its youth, enthusiasm and excitement.
