In May, branches of the Latgale Central Library (LCB) invite city residents and guests to view several exhibitions of art and creative works.

From May 2 to June 27, needlewoman Tatjana Filatova invites you Newly built libraries (on 18. novembra street 161, 2nd floor) visitors can take a look at the embroidery exhibition “Colorful thoughts on a white cloth”. Her home economics teacher, who was a true professional in her field, sparked her interest in handicrafts. Already in her school years, Tatiana learned to knit, crochet, embroider in blanket stitch. She is pleased to be able to warm her family with her knitted socks, gloves, hats and scarves. Having bought a needlework magazine at a kiosk, Tatjana recently started doing cross-stitch embroidery, creating an impressive collection of embroidered paintings. The opening of the exhibition is planned on May 3 at 14.00

on May 15 at 16.00 The annual visual art, design and technology competition of Daugavpils students will be opened in the Jaunbūves library in cooperation with the Daugavpils State Education Board “Secrets of Trees” exhibition of creative works. The works exhibited in the exhibition were made in various techniques, using textiles, paper, wood, metal, plasticine and other materials. The exhibition will be open to visitors until June 8.

Until May 30 at the LCB branch At the coastal library (Aveņu Street 40) an exhibition of paintings by amateur artist Janīna Zaiceva can be viewed “Inspiration comes from nature”. Visitors are offered natural landscapes and flower compositions painted in the watercolor technique.

Until May 30, an exhibition of creative works by visitors to the Daugavpils Day Care Center can be viewed at the Coastal Library “Bringers of joy”. The exhibition presents creative works made of various materials and techniques, the main theme of which is the circus and clowns. Families with children are especially invited to view this exhibition.

From May 2 to June 29 Lilac library (Lauska street 16) an exhibition of the works of Daniil Boronenko and Diana Sibirjanova, students of the photo group of Daugavpils State City Secondary School, will be on display.Yard stories. The works of young photographers in the exhibition are complemented by the poems of the leader of the photo group, Ilma Petrova.

In preparation for this exhibition, the young people were given the task of creating their own story, showing their vision of the courtyards. We go out into the yard to take our pet for a walk, do household chores, look romantically at the sky… and we don’t even imagine how photographers see it all. Photo group leader Ilma teaches children not only to see, but also to see what is happening around them and be able to show it to others, preserving their own vision and at the same time “not producing photo waste”.

Until May 15 in the Pārdaugava library (Communal 2) an exhibition of the creative works of students of the 6th elementary school of J. Raini Daugavpils is on display “Images flow and rise and change.”/J. Rainis/. Children’s creative works of various themes can be seen in the exhibition.
