Looking forward to the Independence Day of the Republic of Latvia, the Commander of the National Guard, Brigadier General Kaspars Pudāns, calls on the public both on holidays and everyday to remember and remind each other that the responsibility for the defense of Latvia begins with every Latvian person. For this purpose, the Latvian National Guard has created the motto “My Latvia. My responsibility. .

“There are more than two million reasons to love Latvia – family and friends, hockey and song festivals, sea and meadows, blue lakes and green forests, the sound of the language and the breath of freedom. There are just as many reasons to protect Latvia, and each of them can be summed up in four words: My Latvia. My responsibility.

There are millions of ways to make Latvia strong. National guardsmen and soldiers are ready to protect Latvia from the first second, from the first centimeter. Every person in Latvia can do this, both by directly participating in the defense of Latvia, serving in the National Guard or supporting the armed forces in training, and in everyday life, doing their work, taking care of their resilience in the information space and readiness for various threats or any of the more than two million reasons that it means Latvia to each of us,” says the commander of the National Guard.

“My Latvia. My Responsibility.” is a guiding principle for comprehensive national defense initiated and created by the Latvian national guards, which reminds every Latvian person of our responsibility to protect Latvia and everything that is dear to us.

It can become a guiding principle for every person in Latvia, reminding not only of our common, but also of everyone’s personal responsibility to protect Latvia.

Therefore, the National Guard encourages you to use this motto on a daily basis, share it, live, work and celebrate with it, in order to remember yourself and remind others that we are responsible for our Latvia, its present and future, for everything we are proud of and love. all together and first of all – each of us.

The National Guard has already sent an invitation to local government educational institutions, expecting May 4th to include this motif for supplementing the content of the holiday, encouraging children and young people to discuss, describe and draw – what My Latvia means to everyone. My Responsibility.

The author of the graphic sign of the motif is the artist and national guard Krišs Salmanis.

We invite you to use “My Latvia”. My Responsibility.” visual materials and social network templates.
