Anita Celma works in the tapestry technique, weaving in wool, sisal, light synthetics – materials that can be dyed by hand. Colors have always played an important role in the artist’s life – in memories, impressions, details. Anita Celma’s artwork includes both figurative tapestries and textured textiles. The subject of the works shows the artist’s interest in folklore and ethnography, which is addressed using an artistic language based on traditions – both decorative and full of imaginative visions. “A work of art, like music or a book, serves as a messenger of time, country, nation, author. I love my country, my people and my work,” says Anita Celma about her work.
