At the beginning of 2024, analysts using artificial intelligence determined that the most popular country in Europe for tourists this year will be Italy, but while the most popular cities such as Rome and Venice are full of crowds of travelers, other less popular regions are trying to attract tourists – the region of Umbria In the central part of Italy, a new tourist attraction has been added, the highest pedestrian bridge in Europe is being installed, writes “CNN Travel”.

The new “Ponte Tibetano” (Tibetan Bridge) pedestrian bridge spanning the gorge is the highest of its kind in Europe and is 175 meters above the gorge. It connects two idyllically beautiful places: the medieval village of Sellano, about an hour’s drive from Perugia, the capital of the region, and Montesanto, a pretty village on the other side of the picturesque Viggi River.

A walk across the approximately 800 meter long bridge will take 30-45 minutes. The path has to be made by taking steps over individual sections of the floor, which add to the sharp sensations – in total, you will have to overcome about 1000 of these sections.

For safety reasons, tourists will be provided with a safety rope, must wear appropriate footwear and must be at least 120 cm tall to be allowed to cross the bridge.

The bridge accepts a maximum of 90 visitors per hour and bookings are currently open until May 5. The price of the ticket online is 25 euros.

Keep in mind that the bridge may be closed in case of bad weather.
