From one to less than 50 thousand euros – how did cities spend on Easter decorations?

As usual, the capital has thought about having an Easter herald in every neighborhood, at least in the form of a poster inviting the holiday to the city. Also, spring flowers have “bloomed” in the parks and other places in Riga, and the Easter bunny has already managed to leave a colorful holiday egg.

Aira Ancāne, the project coordinator of the External Communication Department of the Riga City Council, revealed to the “tv3.lv” portal that the decoration of the urban environment for the Great Day and Easter cost the capital this year 46,959.37 euros.

Ventspils

As the Ventspils Communal Administration tells the “tv3.lv” portal, the city has spent a total of 3,600 euros on Easter decorations this year.

Easter decorations, as every year, decorate various city streets, squares and squares.

There are two decorative swings with figures of birds on the large square, and this year for the first time children will be able to swing on the balance swing. Also, the Ventspils swing guide is placed in the Great Square, so that everyone can find a place to swing. Because Easter is notable for beads, beliefs and customs, some of the beads decorate the five large eggs in the Great Square.

Easter decorations are also placed in the Town Hall Square, where large-format Easter eggs are installed. This year, the students of Ventspils Art School painted Easter eggs with new illustrations from Herbert Dorbe’s fairy tales and poetry, as a tribute to the writer’s 130th anniversary.

On the other hand, the center of Pärventas is decorated with colorful butterflies, and the Ventspils swing guide is also located here.

Daugavpils

The second largest city in Latvia in terms of population, namely Daugavpils, spent 6,285 euros this year to dress up the city center and its neighborhoods in Easter cloths.

Natalja Ivanova, public relations specialist of the central administration of Daugavpils state city municipality, adds that the amount includes the repair, assembly, dismantling of the existing decorations, as well as the placement of festive banners on the facade of the Unity House.

Ogre region

During Christmas, Ogre is known for its beautiful light decorations, which delight not only the residents of Ogre, but also the guests of the city. However, it is not the only holiday that the city is waiting for and likes to adorn itself in gorgeous festive cloths – there is also Easter, where you cannot do without bunnies, nests, eggs and other decorations characteristic of this holiday.

Patriks Griva, the head of the Communications Department of the Ogre County Municipality, tells the “tv3.lv” portal that this year the total amount of Easter decorations is 24,134.29 euros (without VAT), which is intended for the entire county, namely four towns in the county – Ogre, Ikšķile, Lielvārde and Ķegum , as well as 16 parishes. The amount includes the production and installation of the new decorations, as well as the placement of festive elements of previous periods in the city, transportation, etc.
