Among them, the amount of ethyl alcohol produced in January was 859,110 liters of absolute alcohol, which is 2.3 times more than in January 2023. On the other hand, dehydrated alcohol was not produced in Latvia in January.
The amount of ethyl alcohol imported into Latvia in January was 157,260 liters of absolute alcohol, which is 88.4% less than in January 2023.
In January, the amount of ethyl alcohol sold in Latvia increased five times, or by 817,040 liters of absolute alcohol – 1.023 million liters of absolute alcohol were sold in January this year, and 205,900 liters of absolute alcohol in January 2023.
The amount of ethyl alcohol used in the production of alcoholic beverages in January was 954,550 liters of absolute alcohol, which is 21.8% less than the amount used in January 2023 – 1.221 million liters of absolute alcohol.
On the other hand, ethyl alcohol in the amount of 20,010 liters of absolute alcohol was exported and exported to other European Union member states in January, or 16.2 times less than in January 2023.

The LETA agency already reported that in 2023 the amount of alcohol produced in Latvia increased 2.3 times compared to 2022. In general, alcohol was produced in Latvia in 2023 in the absolute volume of 9.793 million liters of alcohol, which is 5.437 million liters more than in 2022.
