Swinging, picnic and a wide cultural program in Riga

This year, Easter will be celebrated brightly, cheerfully and playfully in Riga – the holiday will begin with sacred music concerts, exhibitions and thematic workshops, but among the main activities of the holiday – real Easter swings in seven city squares and parks, singing and fun games at the Pārdaugava Easter event, as well as “Easter picnic” in Mežapark for young and old.

On the second Easter, April 1, from 12:00 to 17:00 in Mežapark, on the Great Stage of Mežapark, the event “Easter Picnic” will be held in honor of the holiday. The post-folk group “Daba San” and the folklore group “Teikas Muzikanti” will entertain those gathered, as well as educational activities for children. The event will be led by Juris Mūrmanis. House of Blackheads offers a fun egg hunting trip

During the Easter holidays, from March 30 to April 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the House of the Black and Whites offers families with children to go on a fun trip “Following the Bunny”, helping the Easter Bunny find the eggs he lost in the house.

On Sunday, March 31, which is the First Easter, the egg hunt adventure will be added to the fun with the presence of Selga, the mascot of the delicious surprise giver candy brand Selga. Seldzītis will also offer children to play a special game.

The Great Easter celebration will take place in the open-air museum

On March 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum will host the Great Easter celebration – with a wide market of artisans and food producers, egg painting and rolling, swinging on various types of large and very large swings, a theater performance for children, learning about folk traditions, folk songs and for dancing.

In the open-air museum, the day will begin with a service in the Usma Lutheran Church, while in the meadow of the Kurzeme fishermen’s village, an egg-painting workshop, egg-rolling, shepherd games and various other creative workshops for children will take place throughout the day.

Sigulda invites you to the eighth Šūpolis festival

On Easter, from March 30 to April 1, the eighth Šūpolis festival will take place in Sigulda, delighting both locals and visitors alike in the only event of its kind in all of Latvia. Traditionally, there will be an opportunity to swing on various swings created by the masters of the Sigulda Swing Festival, as well as to view environmental objects created by artists. This year, the festival will also surprise with several novelties.

The objects of the festival of swings will be located in the main squares of the city – Sigulda railway station and Svētku Square, but some objects will also be located in other areas of the city and Sigulda region, as well as in favorite viewing spots in the territory of the Gauja National Park. The special swing road map will be available digitally “Sigulda razauj!” in the mobile app.

In cooperation with SIA “Yes We Can” team, the second Easter object will be created in the square of the Sigulda railway station – the festival Bunny, who, now in a duet with his big brother, will give joy by capturing the festival visit in fun memory photos. On the other hand, for peaceful moments of relaxation, the “Shūpo leštava” will be installed in the square of the railway station, which will allow you to combine reading books and swinging in a single process of harmony.
