BNKS has set an ambitious goal – to convince the majority of residents to make a decision about renovating their house – BauskasDzive.lv

SIA “Bauskas novada komunālsserviss” (BNKS) in cooperation with the financial institution “Altum” will hold a seminar “Energy efficiency of apartment buildings” in Vecumnieki, Bauska and Iecava at the beginning of April, the portal was informed by the company. “Although it seems that all residents of apartment buildings have heard the words insulation, renovation and energy efficiency, only a few have seriously considered applying these terms to their own home. By taking over the management of apartment buildings in Bauska region, BNKS has set an ambitious goal – to convince the majority of residential house owners to make a decision about renovating their houses,” outlines the future plans of BNKS board chairman Dzintars Cāzers.

He explains that BNKS sees this process in two directions. “First of all, it would be the introduction of complex energy efficiency measures. It must be admitted right away, it is neither cheap nor fast. Although part of the costs are covered by EU funds, the share of borrowing is also quite large. Both in Bauska and elsewhere in the county there are houses that have gone through this process and can be happy about the relatively small heating bills,” said Dz. Caesar.

He notes that a relatively simpler, cheaper and faster process is the renovation of individual parts or units of the house. For example, roof renovation and insulation, house facade insulation, replacement of double-glazed windows in common areas, replacement of internal engineering communications of the house and other larger or smaller works. For this purpose, the most advantageous solution is a loan.

“Real Latvians will immediately object – we don’t want loans, we don’t want to live under the yoke of debt, don’t try to persuade, etc. Unfortunately, such a view must be abandoned entirely. If we want to live in an attractive and renovated house right now, a loan is the only real solution. Of course, someone will remember that you can save first and then repair, replace, restore. Forget it! Replacing the roof of a medium-sized apartment building currently costs close to 50 thousand euros. How many years are we ready to save such an amount? Three, five, more? And what after that?

Inflation will have successfully dealt with part of your savings, while the cost of roof renovation will have increased by at least 20-30% in five years. And you will keep saving for a few more years to get the desired roof, but when you think it’s over, the prices will have risen again. This will continue indefinitely. To prevent this from happening, BNKS encourages the owners of multi-apartment residential houses to seriously consider the idea of ​​taking out a loan and arranging the house in already transparent terms,” ​​says Dz. Caesar.

At the beginning of April, BNKS will organize seminars in Bauska, Iecava and Vecumnieki with the participation of representatives of the Development Finance Institution “Altum” in order to present the residents of Bauska county with the most current information regarding the renovation of residential houses and the implementation of energy efficiency measures.

The first seminar will be held on April 8 at the People’s House for the Elderly, the next one is scheduled for April 9 at the Bauska Culture Center, and on April 12 those interested will be welcomed at the Iecava Culture House.
