But at the same time, there is a surprise about how this place looks: “Everything is collapsed there, some ends of fittings, slanted pieces of concrete, a wall in front so as not to be seen from the street… Such places should not be open to the public!”

The representatives of the Riga City Council have also responded to this post, stating that the restoration of the Mūkusala promenade is continuing, therefore it is planned to tidy up this place as well.

The council has already reported that within the framework of this project, it is planned to reconstruct the 2.3 km long waterfront of Mūkusala Street and build a well-equipped promenade. During the construction works, it is planned to strengthen the Daugava embankment, build a safe pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, including a pedestrian crossing bridge under the Akmens bridge, restore engineering communications, improve the environment, turning another city place into an attractive and modern outdoor space. The reconstruction of the promenade is planned to be completed by the end of November 2025.

The police informed yesterday that, unfortunately, Robert Miksons, born in 1992, who was missing on March 26, was taken out of Daugava, Riga, and died.

Initial information available to the police does not indicate a criminal offence. In connection with the incident, a criminal proceeding will be initiated according to Chapter 13 of the Criminal Law, expertise will be appointed, and the circumstances of the incident will be explained in the investigation.

It has already been reported that the Riga Eastern Department of the Riga Region of the State Police was looking for the missing Robert Miksons, born in 1992. The man was last seen on March 24 of this year around 05:00 in the night club “Latvijas 1. Rokkafejnīca” on Mārstaļu street 2/4, Riga.
