The band “Bēdu Brāļi”, which won the Latvian music recording of the year award “Zelta mikrofons” in the category of the best rock and metal music album last year, has reminded of itself with a new single.
The alternative rock group “Bēdu Brāļi” has announced their second studio album “Lauskas” with the new single “Everyday Life”, which will be released under the auspices of the record company “I Love You Records”. Its first song is able to intrigue and creates confidence that the whole album will also be good, but until then, you can be happy about the released video, “in which the musicians depict in cinematic terms a bold flight of fantasy that chaotically breaks into the daily routine.”
The song “Everyday Life” is the band’s darkest track to date and the first since the release of their debut album “Duende” in 2022. Oskars Tupuriņš, the singer and guitarist of Bēdu Brāļu, shares his personal experience, which served as inspiration for the song: “I started to feel that the monotony of work was turning me evil. Unable to leave the previous day behind and start over. All the nonsense that had happened a day ago, a week ago, a month ago kept piling up until I felt completely upset. I guess I’m not alone.”
The songs are recorded in the studio using the resources of the musicians themselves – the sound processing and the final sound are put in the hands of the band’s drummer and experienced studio producer Pēteras Ozol. “We remember the recent times when releasing new music seemed like madness. But “Brothers of Grief”, in our opinion, is a compelling reason to end the apparent hiatus completely. We are really happy to start cooperation with the “brothers” in order to make their daily life a little easier and diversify, allowing them to spend more time on what is really important – music,” says Bruno Roze, the artistic director of “I Love You Records”, with his feelings about the upcoming cooperation.
“Bēdu Brāļi” is a Latvian alternative rock band founded in 2012. The band consists of Oskars Tupuriņš (vocals/guitar), Jānis Liepiņš (bass) and Pēteris Ozols (drums). Their sound has been influenced by the Latvian independent music scene of the early 2000s, especially such groups as “Židrūns”, “In.Stora” and “Bērnības milicija”. The trump card of “Bēdu Braļu” is the unique sound, which combines elements from shugeiz, psychedelic rock and post-punk, as well as energetic concerts.
