American rapper Kendrick Lamar and Canadian singer Drake are two of the most popular, recognized and influential musicians in the world today. Kendrick, a Pulitzer Prize winner, is highly regarded as a bright voice of a generation, a lyricist who can accurately reveal and describe many social, ethnic and other phenomena in his lyrics. Meanwhile, Drake is gaining attention from listeners and critics as a writer of lighter, more melodic hits, breaking numerous pop records. For a long time, there was a strained relationship between the two, which culminated this year in a beef – a fight that in hip-hop is mainly manifested through diss (songs dedicated to the opponent), but sometimes, unfortunately, it also turns into a physical conflict (in the 90s, the iconic hip-hop musicians The Notorious died in this way BIG and 2Pac).
