Sub Scriptum releases an EP recorded in a shopping mall

--

At the beginning of this year, the group “Sub Scriptum” had organized an improvised recording studio called “SUB BūRIS” in the shopping center “AKROPOLE Alfa”. There, four songs were publicly written over the course of four days, with such guest artists as Ozols, Andrejs Osokins, Nils Īle taking part in the creative process, and producer Kaspars Ansons working at the sound console.

Work productivity was facilitated by online streaming on the Internet, which could be watched by those viewers who could not visit the group in person. The group “Sub Scriptum” is inspired by the events of the life of the modern consumer society, so placing the sound studio in the supermarket was also natural – we have known them as a kind of cultural centers for the last twenty years.

Before starting the work “SUB BūRī”, the group released the single “Ievālies”, which is also included in the forthcoming album. In the song “Piedodiet”, the group collaborated with the outstanding pianist Andrei Osokina, who took on this kind of challenge for the first time. He also appreciates the opportunity to work with Kaspar Anson, which allowed him to express himself both virtuosically and concisely.

The song “112” was written together with percussionist Nilas Īli, who had visited the band’s studio with his entire orchestra. On the other hand, the group’s collaboration with the rapper Ozolu in the creation of the song turned out to be quite amusing.

The new album “SUB BūRIS” can be heard on all streaming platforms.

The group “SUB BūRī” will show what they have done in their next concerts. On Thursday, May 16, the group in cooperation with the sound and light company “100DB” will organize pop-up concert in Liepāja, while already on May 17th he will take the stage of Latvia’s 1st Rokkafejnīcas in Riga. In both concert programs, songs from the new album “Sub Scriptum” will be heard for the first time, and the guests will be entertained with the band’s most popular compositions of all time. Admission to upcoming events will be free.
