Latvian audio innovator “Sonarworks” has developed a vocal converter based on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, which singers and other sound professionals can operate as a plug-in in workstation programs (DAW).

While most recent AI tools threaten to replace musicians, SoundID VoiceAI by Sonarworks gives producers and voice artists unprecedented opportunities to expand their performance, saving time and resources significantly. Using one of the more than 40 currently available voice and instrument profiles, it is possible to change the timbre of your voice. Work is underway on the development of new profiles, so their number will be increased in the future.

SoundID VoiceAI takes a pre-sung or spoken audio track and is able to change its pitch. This allows, for example, a female vocal to be made into a male baritone, while at the same time not losing the nuances that characterize each voice artist’s unique performance.

“At Sonarworks, we are passionate about making our solutions friendly to everyone and making the everyday life of music creators easier, while delivering sound quality worthy of Grammy-winning recordings. In my opinion, “SoundID VoiceAI” reaches this standard, but I would definitely also like to hear what the community of sound enthusiasts has to say about it,” says Mārtiņš Popelis, co-founder and product director of “Sonarworks”, about the new achievement.

In everyday work, “SoundID VoiceAI” opens up unprecedented opportunities for singers to transform their voice not only for solo performance, but also to create duets and singing with themselves in other voices. The innovation also empowers narrators for commercials and audiobooks, who can use different voices to voice different characters themselves and deliver richer impressions to their listeners and customers.

In addition to voice profiles, “SoundID VoiceAI” also offers to turn voice recordings into instrument sounds. Sound designers can punch in the chime they want and the new software will transform it into, say, a trumpet playing, preserving the pitches. Beatbox can be transformed into real drums. It allows you to easily make creative sketches or already record instrument samples for further creative work, significantly saving time and resources.

“SoundID VoiceAI” can be tried for free and without any special obligations for everyone to understand for themselves whether it helps to expand creative possibilities. The free version can convert about 15 minutes of audio. Although the software itself is free, like all other AI solutions, it consumes significant cloud computing power, so the client purchases processing tokens. Prices start from EUR 19.99 for approximately 2 hours of processed material.

To encourage familiarity with SoundID VoiceAI, Sonarworks offers an extended free trial that allows anyone interested to process up to 60 minutes of vocal recording in 7 days. The offer is valid until May 21, 2024.
