The official fashion metropolises – Paris, New York and Milan – have been hot on the heels of the Danish capital Copenhagen for years with its eccentric street fashion stars. Their favorite seasonal item of clothing even got the name of the city.

Copenhagen street fashion influencers are characterized by eclecticism, which varies from laconic minimalism to peculiar uniqueness, embodying an amazing taste of freedom. The hallmark of Scandinavian style is voluminous proportions, seen in quilted vests, trousers, knitwear, dresses and of course, oversized dad-style sneakers. And currently the most fashionable voluminous product is the so-called Copenhagen blouse.

The Copenhagen blouse is a cousin of the old European workers’ and peasants’ shirts, which close in the front with ties, bows or ribbons. They are usually laconic, made of linen and cotton, but there are also more luxurious versions with colorful bead embroidery (characteristic of the cultures of Hungarian, Scandinavian, Ukrainian, Mexican, Greek and other regions). In the 1940s, Hollywood stars wore such a slim-fit shirt, but in the 1970s, it was introduced to the luxury fashion industry by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, who also presented skirts with bows. The audience called this idea the style of “rich peasant”, “peasant chic”.

Since then, various versions of the blouse have been made. Well, it’s the turn of the youngest – Copenhagen blues. It is created by Danish brands “Ganni”, “Sissel Edelbo” and worn by Scandinavian influencers Matilda Djerfa, Pernille Rosenkilde, Hanna Stefansson and others. The appeal of the blouse is self-evident – it is easy to wear and easy to combine. Despite the large size, the main task is to mix colors, materials and proportions to achieve only your own and desired combination. It can be worn with classic blue jeans, cotton or linen midi-length skirts, tight shorts, and also floaty pants. And thanks to the half-open closure, a refreshing flow of wind and a dose of unexaggerated spiciness are guaranteed.
