In the month of May, the Latgale Embassy GORS invites you to celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Latvia together with the Latvian National Guard Orchestra and the US Air Force Orchestra, as well as to celebrate the concert hall’s 11th birthday at the May 11 concert “Bezgalības krelles”, which will be 8 world premieres by the Latvian Radio Choir and conductor Performed by Kaspars Putniņš. At the end of spring, there will also be a guest performance from the Valmiera theater, as well as performances for children and meetings at a chamber music concert.

The exhibition “LIGHT. point” symbolically connects both photography and human light-sensitive nature, in which every point of light is able to change the perception of the surrounding world and its representation. The exhibition consists of reproductions of photos of Jānis Gleizda’s acts, as well as the works of the finalists of the competition in black and white photography “Jāņas Gleizdas award in photography 2024”.

A funny and touching story about a man who has an adventure that makes him reevaluate his life. Look through life’s “closet” to try on which costume still fits, but which one is already too small. It is a time to reevaluate your past, present and future relationships. It could also be a story about the actor Đirta ķesteri. But maybe not. Perhaps this is a task for the audience – to guess what is from the actor’s life in the story, but what is imagined. Maybe this is the story of all of us when we find ourselves in an unexpected situation? But it is definitely a story about relationships – about the desire to love and be loved! Đirts ķesteris will not be alone on stage. He will be joined by Lelde Dreimane or Erika Eglija – Grävele.

The orchestra of the United States Air Forces Europe (USAFE) will visit Latvia to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NATO alliance and the 20th anniversary of Latvia’s accession to the NATO alliance in joint concerts with the Latvian National Guard Orchestra, as well as to greet the people of Latvia on the 34th anniversary of the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Latvia. As part of the “Stronger together” concert tour, the musicians of both orchestras will give a free concert in Rēzekne. Under the leadership of two outstanding conductors – Major Andas Karel and Captain Brian O’Donnell, the audience will go on an extraordinary musical journey, where the beloved and varied music of brass bands from both Latvia and the United States will be heard.

This experience between the theater and the audience gives us an inexhaustible source of inspiration and the desire to develop new ideas. We want this shared experience to be available to all children!

In the program: new works by eight composers – Jura Karlsson, Artura Maskat, Santa Ratniece, Anna Fischer, Erik Ešenvald, Mārtiņš Viļum, Platon Buravits, Andras Dzenīš with poetry by Nora Ikstenas. In what words, in the Babel of languages, to dress it up, with what musical power to praise it? Eight acrostics – at the same time direct and coded messages to the planets of the solar system are intended as gratitude and wonder for our existence in this place of infinity – the Earth. Love for dance unites each of us, it inspires and lifts us up. The dance studio “Dynamic Hit” has been operating since 2007 and is the first independent dance studio in Rēzekne, where people of all ages learn modern dance skills under the guidance of teacher and choreographer Diana Garanča. 180 dancers from the dance studio take part in the concert. Choreographers: Diana Garanca, Anna Škender, Roman Spradzenko, Daniella Chizhevska, Alesja Garanca, Denis Gruzde.

RHUBARB WINE. Relationship comedy

“Rhubarb wine” – that’s what we’ve called the new comedy about two neighbor couples’ games in the Latvian style. In the new play of the comedy author Aivas Birbeles, the beloved and great actors – Zane Udňiņa, Kristīne Nevarauska, Ęirts Ķesteris and Lauris Subatnieks will meet over a glass of intoxicating rhubarb wine. Whether because of the wine or because of their own passions and desires, the events will test the trust of both couples in this one-act play full of flirtatious femininity and masculine masculinity.

Juuk is a folk rock band that has released three official albums, the last of which – “Muļķa stabule” – received the music recording award “Zelta Mikrofonu”. Sniedze Prauliņa, Edgars Šubrovskis, Oskars Jansons, Rasa Pole, Richard Dauksts and Niks Moss Rogers sing and play in the group. The composition of traditional rock guitars in the band’s sound plays with the voices of three soloists, a violin, a flute and a banjo.
