The World Food Program will finance 30% of the cost of lunches in 420 primary schools in Ukraine, which is a significant relief for many families.

Marija Bakaja has two children – seven-year-old Anna and eight-year-old Nazar. We had to pay 700 hryvnias or about 17.5 euros for each lunch per month. The program will save more than 10 euros in total and will encourage other families to use the school’s catering services.

Children are also taught about healthy nutrition, which will allow them to form correct habits and take care of their health.

Success depends largely on the school’s cooks, who start work at 6 in the morning. During the journalists’ visit, cook Ivanna Nidza prepared buckwheat and chicken stew with various additives and spices, pickled cucumber and fresh cabbage salad, as well as dried fruit compote.

In Ukraine, due to the war, children are regularly exposed to stress, so nutritionists think that meals should contain the necessary vitamins, including vitamin B.
