Jiang Guo, who is an accredited assistant in Kra, is mentioned in the list of employees of the European Union. Kraa is the main candidate of Germany’s right-wing Eurosceptic party Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the upcoming EP elections in June.

Guo is a German citizen who has been working as Kra’s assistant in Brussels since 2019. He was suspended after being accused of espionage.

The “X” platform confirmed that Guo’s office was searched, saying that it was expected and not a surprise after the arrest. “It’s just surprising that it took them so long to do it,” he added.

In Kraa, “X” previously told that the prosecutors confirmed to his lawyer that he “is not a suspect in the investigation”.

Allegations of spying for China are among the scandals that have hit the AfD in recent months. Among them are also suspicions and accusations about AfD members’ connection with Russia.

German prosecutors announced in April that they had opened a preliminary investigation into Kraa over reports that he had received suspicious payments from Russia and China. Regardless of the scandal, the 47-year-old politician has promised to continue being the AfD’s main candidate for the European Parliament mandate.
