The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in the Swedish city of Malmö on Thursday evening, where 10 more countries were selected for the contest final, including Latvia, Estonia and Israel.

Israel, whose participation in Eurovision was protested by thousands of people in Malmö on Thursday, is represented in the competition by singer Edena Golan with the song “Hurricane”. The original title of the song “October Rain” and its lyrics were changed because the organizers of the contest considered them to be overtly political.

Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Finland, Cyprus, Croatia, Ireland and Luxembourg were selected as finalists in the first semi-final of Eurovision, which took place on Tuesday evening, while Australia, Azerbaijan, Iceland, Poland and Moldova did not reach the final.

Lithuania is represented at Eurovision by the singer Silvestrs Belts with the song “Luktelk” (“Wait”).

Participation in the Eurovision final, which will take place on Saturday evening, is automatically guaranteed to the countries of the so-called “Big Five” – ​​France, Italy, Great Britain, Spain and Germany, as well as Sweden, the organizer of this year’s contest.
