Tennessee softball’s Karen Weekly on team becoming SEC regular season champions

What Tennessee softball’s Karen Weekly said after the team became back-to-back SEC regular season champions and how Kiki Milloy has persevered this season.

Tennessee softball is going for the sweep again this season.

The Lady Vols won their second straight SEC regular-season championship for the first time last weekend. They swept the SEC titles last year, also for the first time, and they have a chance to sweep the titles in back-to-back seasons for the third time in conference history. LSU and Florida are the only two teams to accomplish the feat.

From 1 seed Tennessee (40-9) kicks off the SEC Tournament against No. 8 seed LSU (39-14) at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama on Thursday (11 am ET, SEC Network). UT won the series against LSU at home this season, only dropping one game 1-0 against the Tigers.

The Lady Vols completed the sweep of Kentucky to end the regular season with a walk-off win in the eighth inning Saturday. They have now recorded their 21st consecutive full season with 40 or more wins going into the postseason.
