With the arrival of the Mahindra XUV 3XO, which is essentially a facelifted XUV 300 following a new nomenclature, the highly-contested compact SUV segment is heating up even more. This model will compete against a host of other established rivals in the segment, including the leader, Tata Nexon. Here, let’s quickly break down the two SUVs in terms of prices, specs, and features on offer.

In the department of pricing, the Mahindra XUV 3XO throws the first jab with its competitive pricing starting from Rs 7.49 lakh, ex-showroom, and going all the way up to Rs 14.49, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the pricing for the Tata Nexon starts from Rs 8.15 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.20 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.

Now coming to the features, both SUVs boast an array of features, however, the Mahindra model has come up with some segment-first features such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS suite. Other notable features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, 7-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and more.

On the other hand, the Tata Nexon comes packed with a similar list of features minus a few. It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, 9-speaker JBL sound system. Other notable features include an automatic climate control with touch controls, rear AC vents, wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, cruise control, and more.

In terms of features, both the SUVs are loaded to the gills, however, the 3XO has a slight edge with the addition of panoramic sunroof and ADAS in the higher-end variants but to counter that, the Nexon comes with a more capable surround system , and its LED lighting package inside out including the illuminated steering wheel – which of course depends on personal preferences. When it comes to core features like infotainment unit, digital driver’s display, airbags, and 360-degree camera, both SUVs are evenly matched.
