HATTIESBURG – Southern Miss baseball is back home this week, starting with a midweek game against New Orleans.
The Golden Eagles (27-17, 12-9 Sun Belt Conference) lost two of three games at Louisiana over the weekend. Their RPI is at 46 as of Monday and they are now in a tie with Georgia Southern for third place in the conference behind Louisiana and Troy.

New Orleans (21-19, 9-6 Southland Conference) lost its weekend series to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Privateers are led at the plate by designated hitter Victor Castillo, who is fifth in the country in on-base percentage (.544). Right fielder Mitchell Sanford is another standout with 58 RBIs on the season.
