Tuesday was not a day that will be well remembered in the history of the Vancouver Canucks.

First came the news that Thatcher Demko was out with a suspected knee injury and wouldn’t play in at least game 2 against the Nashville Predators that evening.

Then the teams hit the ice for the morning skate and Tyler Myers was absent. After Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to the Predators, head coach Rich Tocchet said Myers is out with the flu.

The Canucks took an optional morning skate so his absence in the morning wasn’t particularly notable. He wasn’t the only player not to skate, but afterwards Tocchet said he wasn’t expecting any lineup changes other than Demko’s absence.

Noah Juulsen took warm-up in Myers’ place.

The flu is a tough blow for Myers, who was coming off a highly effective game Sunday against the Predators.

He told Postmedia last week how thrilled he was to finally be in the playoffs at home with the team he chose to join in 2019.
