Rihards Bukarts scored 11 points (3+8) in 10 games at the World Championship last year, which was the best score in the Latvian national team.

The 28-year-old forward started this season in the Swiss club “Biel”, where he earned two points (1+1) in 11 matches.

In the continuation of the season, Rihards Bukarts played in the Czech team “Vitkovice”, in whose ranks he collected 11 points (7+4) in 18 matches in the regular championship.

On the other hand, Rihards Bukarts scored two points (1+1) in three matches in the “play-off” tournament.

Rihards Bukarts participated in six world championships, played 46 games and scored 26 points (7+19).

The official training camp of the national team will start on April 1.

The first two test matches for the Latvian national team will take place on April 4 and 5 against Austria. These two matches will be played behind closed doors.

After that, two games are scheduled for “Arena Riga” – on April 10 and 11 against the strong Finland.

In the future, Latvia will meet Switzerland as a guest, but the testing cycle will end with the May 3rd and 4th matches against Norway in “Arena Riga”.

In subgroup B of the World Championship, Latvia, which won bronze medals last year, will meet France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden and the USA.

The 2024 championship will take place in the Czech cities of Prague and Ostrava from May 10 to 26. The Latvian national team will play group games in Ostrava.
