“Real” beat “Bayern” Munich 2:1 (0:0) in the second leg of the semi-final at home and won 4:3 on aggregate.

“Real”, the fourteen-time champion of the Old Continent, will compete in the final game for the 18th time in history.

In the 13th minute of the game, “Real” striker Vinicius Junior hit the goalpost with the ball, but Rodrigo’s repeated chance was thwarted by “Bayern” goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. In the continuation of the half-time, in one of the attacks, Harry Kane just narrowly missed the “Real” goal, but as the break approached, Neyer saved the visitors perfectly.

In the second half, Neyer prevented the Madrid team from sending the ball into the goal in a couple more episodes. On the other hand, “Bayern” used their opportunity, in the 68th minute, at the end of the counterattack, Alfonso Davies beat Andrijas Lunin.

A little later, after a corner kick, the ball also went into the Bavarians’ goal, but with the involvement of VAR, it was determined that Joshua Kimmich was pushed in the penalty area, so the result remained unchanged.

Two minutes before the end of regular time, after a kick from Vinicius, Neier bounced the ball in front of him, from where he put it into the net for Hosel.

In the first seconds of the compensation time, after a pass from Antonio Rüdiger from a few meters, Hosel put the ball into the goal and, without confirming the rear, “Real” got the lead both in the game and in the amount.

Compared to the first leg, Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel made three changes to the starting line-up, replacing Thomas Müller, Leon Gorecki and Kim Minje with Serge Gnabry, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Matisse de Licht. Gnabry got injured already in the first half and was replaced by goal scorer Davis.

On the other hand, Carlo Ancelotti made only one change – the previously suspended Dani Carvajal returned to the starting eleven, replacing Lucas Vasquez in the defense.

The first match between these teams ended in a draw 2:2.

In the second semi-final, Borussia Dortmund won both games 1-0 and beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 on aggregate.

32 teams played in the main tournament of the Champions League. The two best teams of each subgroup made it to the round of 16, while the third-placed team continued their season in the UEFA Europa League elimination tournament.

The final will be held on June 1, 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London.

Manchester City won the Champions League last season, beating Italian club Inter Milan 1-0 in Istanbul, winning the competition for the first time.
