Arthur Shilov for the third time in a row, the “Canucks” scored in the playoffs and helped the team to the first series-ending victory over the “Predators” of Nashville (1:0). The Latvian saved all 28 shots by his opponents, reaching the first dry game in his NHL career. Shilov was recognized as the first star of the game.

Shilov has become the youngest goalkeeper in the history of the “Canucks” team, who had a dry game in the playoffs. The Latvian did it at the age of 23 years and 42 days. Thatcher Demko was the previous record holder – he did it when he was 24 years and 270 days old (in 2020). They are both the only goaltenders in team history to do so before their 25th birthday.

• Shilov is the 14th goaltender in NHL history to have a shutout in the deciding game of a Stanley Cup series. In the last 30 years, only goalkeepers like Matt Murray (2017), Corey Perry (2008) and Ilya Bryzgalov (2006) have done it.

• For the seventh time in NHL history and only the third time in the last 50 years, an NHL team won the first round of the playoffs when at least three goaltenders were used in the series. The last time it happened was in 2011, but the second time in 50 years when three goaltenders scored in a winning streak was in 1988.

Teodor Blüger spent 12 minutes and 55 seconds on the ice in the final game of the series. The Latvian spent two minutes and 38 seconds on the ice in the minority. In the allotted time, Blügers made one shot on goal, blocked two opponents’ shots, won two of two shots and ended the game with a neutral +/- indicator.

• “Canucks” scored the only goal in the final period, when there were only less than two minutes left to play. A great pass was made by Brock Besser, who found Pius Suter in front of the goal – the striker made an unerring shot, contributing to the “Canucks” victory in the sixth game of the series (1:0). Vancouver managed to keep its goal intact and celebrate the victory in the sixth game of the series (4-2).

• “Canucks” advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2020 and only the second time since 2011, when the team played in the Stanley Cup final. In the next round, the team represented by Blüger and Shilov will face Connor McDavid and Edmonton “Oilers”.
