Rangnik rejected the offer of the German football club “Bayern” to lead the team

--

The statement says that the 65-year-old German coach Rangnik has decided to stay with the Austrian team even after this year’s European Championship in Germany.

“I am the coach of the Austrian team with all my heart. This job gives me incredible joy and I am determined to succeed

to continue on the path we have chosen,” said Rangnik.

“I want to emphasize that this is not a rejection of “Bayern”, but a decision in favor of the Austrian national team and our common goals. We are fully focused on the European Championship and will do everything possible to get as far as possible,” the coach added.

Bayern must find a replacement for Thomas Tuchel, who is leaving the club in June by prior agreement with its management. Bayern went winless in the Bundesliga for the first time in 12 years this season, beating Bayer Leverkusen to the title, but have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Rangnik became the club’s first choice after rejecting Xavi Alonso and Julian Nägelsmann and deciding to stay with Bayer and the German national team respectively.

After 31 rounds, “Bayern” is in second place in the Bundesliga with 69 points, 12 points behind “Bayer” three rounds before the end of the tournament.
