“Arrow McLaren” team announced today that it has terminated the contract with Lithuanian pilot David Malukas, who did not manage to complete a single “IndyCar” stage as part of the team this season.

American-Lithuanian Malukas, who was born in Chicago, signed an agreement to start in the team in the 2024 championship, however, shortly before the season, he injured his left hand in a fall from a bicycle.

In the first two stages, Maluk was replaced by the British Kellam Aylott, and in the next two, last season’s F2 champion Theo Pourchier from France. The highest result for both of them so far is 11th place.

Recently it became known that the pilot’s injury is more serious than initially thought. Therefore, there is no certainty when he could return to racing. Which drivers will take up a place in the team for the remainder of the season will be announced in due course, Arrow McLaren has confirmed.

In 2021, Malukas became the “Indy NXT” runner-up, and then spent two “IndyCar” seasons with the “Dale Coyne Racing” team. His highest achievement is second place at the 2022 World Wide Technology Raceway.
