Similar to the previous year, this year the competition will be held in six different groups. This season, some changes are planned and this time there will not be the usual MIX groups, but the competition for boys will be held in four different age groups, giving the opportunity to the youngest basketball players to participate. On the other hand, for girls, the games will be held in two different groups.
This year’s “Paveball” championship will start with the well-known Grobiņa stage as part of the city’s festivities, but the continuation will follow in the months of June, July and August in Liepāja at the LOC ice rink and in the KP basketball court of Jurmala Park next to the Daugava auxiliary stadium. Also this year, as in previous years, in the final 6th stage of the championship, which will take place on August 14 at the KP basketball court near the Daugava auxiliary stadium, only the best four teams in each age group will be able to participate, thus bringing together only the best street basketball teams of this summer season. The final stage will feature semi-final and final matches throughout the day, determining this year’s champions in all age groups.
Without exception, this year as well, without basketball games, the most skillful players will be determined in individual 1:1 competitions, as well as in the skills competition, who will fight for the main prize – 100 EUR gift cards from the shopping center “Kurzeme” and “Sporta Bodes”.
Registration for the competition is possible on the day of the competition 1-1.5 hours before its start. The participation fee in the U99 age groups for men and women per team is 10 EUR, regardless of whether the team consists of three or four players. On the other hand, in all age groups of young people, the participation fee from the team is 5 EUR, thus promoting the development of this type of sport among young people.
