The striker of the Latvian hockey team, Rudolfs Balcers, was injured tonight in the fifth game of the final series of the Swiss top league (NL).
“Lions” of Zurich, represented by Balcer, play a home game against “Lausanne” and Ronalda ħeninas. Balcer played just four minutes and three seconds in the first period before heading to the locker room with an injury. The Latvian striker was not seen with the team at the beginning of the second period, and as revealed by the doctor of the “Lions” club, Gary Bisers, the Latvian will not be on the field tonight due to an injury.
Balcers was one of the leaders of the Zurich team this season – he scored 38 (20+18) points in 50 games of the main tournament, and in 12 “play-off” matches he had four goals and four assists. It should be reminded that Balcers had previously also given approval to join the Latvian national team at the club after the end of the season.
