“Schneider Electric” in the Baltics starts to offer ultra-fast high-power charging stations for electric cars

--

The leader in energy management and automation “Schneider Electric” is starting to offer customers in the Baltic market “EVlink Pro DC” fast charging stations with a capacity of 120 kW, 150 kW and 180 kW to help building owners promote energy efficiency and energy management, as it is expected that in the coming years almost 90% of electric vehicle charging will take place at commercial, office or industrial buildings. High-power charging stations “EVlink Pro DC” will allow electric cars to be charged up to 80% in just 20 minutes, thus, by optimizing the building’s energy consumption, the vehicle will return to the road faster and will not overload the building’s electrical supply system.

Today, 23% of the world’s total energy consumption is consumed in transport, while 26% is consumed in buildings. In order to reduce the CO2 emissions caused by this energy consumption, the transition to electrification of these industries must be accelerated, but the use of green energy, such as energy produced by solar panels on the roof of the building, must be expanded in the electricity supply of buildings or charging of vehicles. By combining efficient EV charging solutions and power distribution infrastructure with intelligent energy management software, building owners or managers can achieve their sustainability goals as well as provide a great experience for EV drivers.

Seamless integration for the most efficient energy management

“EVlink Pro DC” high-power stations have the option of integrating the load management system “EcoStruxure EV Charging Expert” to intelligently and in real time distribute energy between the building and electric car charging stations, ensuring maximum efficiency and cost savings. This solution is easily compatible with building management systems such as “Power Monitoring Expert” or “EcoStruxure Building Operation”, bringing everything together in one place instead of several separate programs. The EcoStruxure EV Charging Expert solution is also certified to interface with dozens of third-party charging station management systems, giving building owners or EV charging point operators the ability to design a charging system that meets their unique needs.

Connectivity and easy integration into the power supply system

The new EVlink Pro DC charging stations embody Schneider Electric’s long history in electricity distribution and extensive experience in the building sector to provide an innovative approach to EV charging infrastructure. With these charging stations, we are committed to providing users with connectivity and easy integration into the existing power supply system, so that building and parking managers gain maximum control over costs and energy efficiency, while drivers can easily access and use the charging station. This is now very necessary to improve the overall experience of using electric cars.

Key features and benefits of EVlink Pro DC:

  • Charging of electric cars with a capacity of 120 kW, 150 kW or 180 kW. The charging station is ISO15118 “Plug & Charge” certified and also supports smart charging.
  • Convenient and simple connection to the “EVlink Pro Pay” system, which allows you to pay for charging with a bank payment card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  • The protection of the charging station housing against rust is certified and tested by a third-party laboratory (C4M rust resistance class). The charging station can be used in harsh conditions and extreme temperatures, up to +50°C, without a reduction in charging capacity.
  • Increased electrical safety, as well as a charging stop button for emergencies.
  • Sensors for mechanical shocks or water ingress into the station housing with real-time notifications if any problems occur at the charging point.
  • Ease of use of the station with the “AutoCharge” vehicle recognition system, which automatically starts charging if the vehicle is in the list of registered electric cars at the station.

Since more and more electric cars can be found on the Baltic roads, as well as more and more building owners producing their own energy on the roofs of their houses, offering “EVlink Pro DC” in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia is only a logical addition to the portfolio of “Schneider Electric” offers, which already includes a range of new and ultra-fast charging stations. With this offer, we have expanded our range of innovations to create new opportunities for owners and managers of parking lots, offices, public and industrial buildings.
